ABOUT VFM LTD.
The Vermilion Forest Management Company Ltd. (VFM) holds the Sustainable Forest License to manage the public lands on the Sudbury Forest Management Unit.
Our core objective is to maintain and enhance the long term health and productivity of the Sudbury Forest, while providing environmental, economic, social, and cultural opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations.
FOREST MANAGEMENT PLANNING
FOREST RENEWAL AND TENDING
VFM Ltd. is the primary steward of forest renewal and health following the harvest of timber from our Crown lands. This includes site preparation, regeneration and taking care of forest growth for many years following initial management of the area.
MONITORING AND REPORTING
VFM Ltd. is responsible to ensure and report that all forest workers operate in compliance with provincial regulations contained in forest management plans for Ontario's Crown Forests. We are responsible for the growth of healthy forests, and the monitoring and reporting of all forest management activities occurring on Crown Lands within the Sudbury Forest.
